To Build or Not To Build

Hello Lovelies and Happy Good Friday! I hope all the kiddies enjoy their chocolates and egg hunts. While the grown ups enjoy being surrounded by family and friends. Our Easter will be low key this year, as there have been some massive shifts within the structure of our extended family. We've experienced the loss of important people, and we are learning what it looks like to celebrate our holidays as we move on without them.

For the last few years I have felt this need for community, the craving to be surrounded by like-minded people and their beautiful brains. Every time the thought of community came to me, I was always reminded of the atmosphere of the book community. Which would lead me to deep diving, engaging and interacting in meaningful book conversations with so many different people on Instagram and Threads. I have loved the interactions that I've had on those platforms.

However, I have felt that those interactions only scratched the surface of what I was looking for, that it was a step in the right direction but I wanted more. Lately, I've been going through that experience all over again. I've been engaging in conversations and hyping up other book lovers, nothing matches the feeling of a positive community that comes from meaningful book conversations. Yet again I am left with that feeling that it's not enough, I want a place to engage in discussions. I want to talk about what characters have messed me up, I want to talk about the books that shattered my heart, I want to hear how a book has impacted, morphed and planted a seed into a fellow book lover. I want a safe space to build long lasting friendships, a place for readers to grow and change along with their reading styles.

Needless to say, my brain has been going a mile a minute on building this type of community because when you aren't able to find something that you need, the next best option is to build it yourself! I have so many ideas on how to grow and add value to the type of community I am looking to create. If joining a bookish community that has these values and vibes interests you, stay tuned for what is coming soon!

Happy Easter! Enjoy the weather and Spring is on the way! ❤
